Beginning in 1955, Originally the Sherriff's Posse, Pinal County Mounted Posse became a service organization of volunteers that focused on the Junior Parada which led to other youth activities. In 2006 the Posse officially became the Pinal County Mounted Posse. The Posse is known for putting on the Florence Junior Parada and 34 years of sponsorship for the Central Arizona College rodeo at the Charles Whitlow Arena. The Posse has sponsored youth events at the rodeo grounds, including AJRA, QC Jr. High Rodeo Association, High School rodeos and Football Booster Bash.
The Pinal County Mounted Posse members are from many professions; construction, heavy equipment, education, nursing, veterinary technicians, agriculture professionals, court security, law officers, dispatchers and many more. We all come together to support the kids of our community in their many different activities.
Support has recently been shown as follows:
* Local High School Football/Basketball/Cheerleading
* Annual sponsorship of the Town of Florence Softball League.
* Donated more than $1K of "add-on" money to sixteen (16) exhibitors in the Pinal County Jr. Livestock Auction. The youth raised, showed and sold their animals at the Livestock Auction. The add-on money helps provide them with funds with which to start another animal the following year.
* Donated funds in support of several special needs children for Special Olympics.
* Christian academy for their academic competition.
* Eddie Martinez benefit.
* Contestants to Jr Rodeo finals
* FFA/4H Clubs
* Central Arizona Valley Institute of Technology (C.A.V.I.T)
